ABOUT

For those that don't know, my name is Gemma or 'Gem Eventing' to some. I am a twenty-two year old engineer and proud owner of Apache Blue (Conner). Conner is an eleven year old skewbald tobiano gelding, with two beautiful and standout blue eyes. Together we enjoy low level eventing and British Riding Club events. We also LOVE purple.. Infact, it is a bit of an obsession as you can see from our website!!

I have been riding since the age of six; learning at a local riding centre. By the age of seven, I was competing in lead rein classes at shows across Somerset. My dad and riding instructor ran around with me in all sorts of weather, and for that I am very grateful. This led me to riding for an owner for many years, showing at County level by the age of ten. My legs then got too long and I went back to the riding school for a couple of years; getting my weekly equestrian fix! The eventing bug began when I started doing some 60cm/70cm events on a loan horse. This led to riding an awesome veteran horse who built my confidence up after a nasty fall. I then went on to buy Conner; my first ever horse!! I have had him for three years now and have been lucky enough to compete at two British Riding Club National Championship. It hasn't all been frills, having recently had a very nasty fall. We are now building our confidence back up, with the aim of smashing the 2020 season!
